The fleet of 22 driverless trains has travelled more than 3.8 million kilometres, or 93 times around the equator. More than 11 million customer journeys have been made on the Metro North West Line, with Sydney new driverless trains travelling over 1.7 million kilometres – or 42 times around the equator (see sydney metro northwest map). In its first five months of operations, the new metro has ramped up to meet key milestones and is now carrying more than 75,000 people each weekday.
