Terminal 1 was opened on 3 May 1970, replacing the old Overseas Passenger Terminal (which was located where Terminal 3 stands now) and has been greatly expanded since then. Today it is known as the International Terminal, located in the airport north western sector. It has 30 gates (Concourse B with 8–37 and Concourse C with 50–63) served by aerobridges, as well as a number of remote bays. It can accommodate the Airbus A380, which fly routes to Singapore (Singapore Airlines), London via Singapore and Los Angeles (Qantas), Dubai and Auckland (Emirates) as you can see in sydney airport map t1. The terminal building is split into three levels, one each for arrivals, departures and airline offices. The departure level has 20 rows of check-in desks each with 10 single desks making a total of 200 check-in desks.

The terminal 1 has an observation deck located on the rooftop. The terminal hosts six airline lounges as its shown in sydney airport map t1: Two for Qantas, and one each for Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Emirates. The terminal underwent a major $500 million redevelopment that was completed in 2010, by which the shopping complex was expanded, outbound customs operations were centralised and the floor space of the terminal increased to 254,000 square metres. Sydney T1 International Airport (SYD)Opens external site, also known as Kingsford Smith, is the primary hub in Australia for Qantas. It is conveniently located 10 km (6 miles) from the city centre in Mascot. Qantas flights QF1-QF399, oneworld flights and Jetstar international flights operate from this terminal.
 
The transfer lounge is located on the arrivals level of Sydney International Airport as its mentioned in sydney airport map t1. After you clear customs, follow the signs located outside the terminal; entry is outside of the main terminal within a short walk via a weather protected walkway. Recheck your baggage at the seamless transfer check-in counters and then board the shuttle bus for the domestic terminal. It operates from: 6 am to 12 pm every 10 minutes, 12 pm to 9 pm every 20 minutes. The bus arrives at T3 at Gate 15. The ticket counter is located on the departures level 2 next to check-in counter E and is open from 5 am to 9 pm. Online check-in is available for Qantas international flights (QF1-199), and other eligible connecting flights operated by oneworld, partner and codeshare airlines. Download your boarding pass and secure your seat from 24 hours before your flight departure up intil 2 hours before departure. Airport check-in is located on the departures level 2 and is open from 4.30am daily.
